How can I add money using M-Pesa?

There are a couple of ways you can add money to your Pyypl account. We will walk you through how to deposit funds using M-Pesa.

1. Launch your Pyypl app

Make sure you have signed up and completed your verification before adding money to your account. If you haven't signed up yet, here is a step-by-step guide on - how to sign-up for a Pyypl account.

Launch your app and enter the passcode.

2. Add money

Go to the home screen on your app and tap 'top-up'.

Tap on 'mobile wallets', and select 'M-Pesa' from the pop-up on your screen.

3. Integrate your M-Pesa account with Pyypl

Enter your M-Pesa phone number and tap 'next'.

Tip: Your phone number registered on Pyypl must be the same as your M-Pesa phone number, so we can automatically link your M-Pesa to your Pyypl account.

The top-up will not go through if you are using different phone numbers.

4. Tell us how much you'd like to top up

Enter the amount you want to transfer from your M-Pesa account.

Tip: The minimum top-up amount is KES 10.

5. Triple-check your M-Pesa number

You will see the option to change your M-Pesa number before initiating the payment.

Please verify the number and tap 'next', or you can change by tapping 'change'

6. Verify your payment.

You will need to verify your top-up with M-Pesa. You will be prompted to enter your M-Pesa pin, once you have entered the pin tap 'send'.

Hold on for a few seconds until you see the successful transaction message on your screen.

Tip: Do not kill or leave your app at this stage; the transaction may fail. If the transaction fails - you will need to refresh or restart your app and try again.

8. Stay cool! We are processing your payment.

Your payment will be credited to your Pyypl account in a jiff!
